Welcome! This course aims to help you to understand behaviour that might be connected to experiences of trauma. We will explore what it means to be trauma informed in our support by focusing on developing an awareness of trauma, understanding the importance of building trust, a sense of safety and enabling choice through a strength-based approach.

Meet the instructor

Hannah Sansom

Hannah is Resets Community Building Lead; she has worked in refugee protection for the past 12 years, both internationally and in the UK. She is an experienced programme manager, frontline practitioner and trainer, with expertise in Trauma Informed Care and Gender Based Violence. Hannah has extensive experience designing and delivering training on Trauma Informed Care. Learners have included school professionals, NHS staff, local authorities and NGO's. Hannah has an MSc in Refugee Studies and conducted research on the barriers to disclosure of trauma within the UK asylum process, with a focus on Gender Based Violence.
